Starting the morning with short drive of less than an hour, heading North-East of Kathmandu Valley rim. Reaching a small farm town of Sundarijal, located 15 k.m. east of Kathmandu city. Following our guide with climb towards Shivapuri National Park entrance, facing nice views of waterfalls, brooks and fresh streams.
The trail follows uphill to a nice farm villages and then into a lovely rhododendron and pine forest. The last short climb reaches Chisapani, located on a high ridge north of Kathmandu valley. Where air gets cooler facing views of snow-capped peaks from Annapurna-Manaslu-Ganesh Himal and Lang tang Himal. The views extends towards Jugal Himal with Annapurna and Manaslu in the far west, check into a nice simple lodge. Late afternoon enjoy the stunning views of sunsets reflects over chain of Himalayan peaks in the north.
Enjoy the morning sunrise views, reflecting on chain of Himalayan peaks, after breakfast start the hike, following a high ridge. Views of snow peaks remains constant throughout the walks, enter into a lovely cool forest, as walk heads downhill to Chowki-Bhanjyang. A small farm village with views of Kathmandu valley eastern rim, the trail follows on gradual winding path. Reaching a lovely village of Jarsing Pawa, as walk continues with climb from a small farm areas of Kartike Bhanjyang. An hour uphill brings you to the end of day’s walks reaching famous Nagarkot Hill and the highest point. Nagarkot for overnight stop in the comfort of nice hotels and resorts with backdrop of Himalayan mountain views.
Nagarkot, located at 2,175 meters, is famous for stunning sunrises and sunset views, which reflects over snow-capped mountains. Facing views of Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang-Jugal Himal Mt. Gaurishankar as far towards eastern horizon around Everest range.
Morning before dawn enjoy the first glimpse of stunning sunrise, as it reflects on Himalayan peaks. Having breakfast drive back to Kathmandu of few hours journey, the road leads through Bhaktapur city outskirts.(Interested people can enjoy tour of Changunarayan Temple with Bhaktapur sightseeing also). On reaching Kathmandu city area transfer to your hotel, rest of the day at leisure.
First day leads to climb for 3-4 hours to Chisapani hill top, from Chisapani takes more than 5 hours to Nagarkot. A beautiful and scenic hike throughout the trip and enjoyable with ups and downhill walks.
Yes, young infants to elderly people can join on this trek, however for small babies needs to be carried. Where one can hire an extra porter to carry the young ones throughout the hiking.
First night in Chisapani lodge, the rooms are simple but clean serves limited food menu from Continental, Chinese, Indian and Nepali meals. But at Nagarkot the hotels are of tourist standard with rooms having attached bath and toilets.

It is a moderate grade walks, however involves steep climb for few hours as well downhill and with few gradual trail. Taking slowly having time for refreshing stops will make the climb on uphill easier, along with the views.
