Overview

The Bardiya National Park is located in Nepal's Far South Mid-West, around the low flatland of Terai with a warm sub-tropical climate. Bardiya National Park covers an area of 968 sq. Km. is one of the least visited parks by the main flow of visitors.
Less visited park, due to its remote location about 387 km or 247 miles air distance. The driving takes more than 7-8 hours to reach Bardiya National Park at 531 km / 330 miles from Kathmandu. Certainly a long way, but the easiest and smooth way is flying to Nepalgunj city airport. Then drive for 2-3 hours on 87 km / 54 miles distance to the Bardiya park entrance outskirt. 
Where most hotels, and lodges are situated, a warm low area of Nepal around the Terai belt, and an agricultural region. Having dense deep jungles, a perfect habitat for many wild mammals and exotic bird species, famous for rare endangered Gangetic Dolphins.
A great place for jungle safari on the lookout for different wildlife, such as Royal Bengal Tiger and Rhinoceros. Includes swamp deer, black buck, Gharial crocodile and marsh mugger crocodile, and Gangetic dolphin. 
As well as many species of birds with endangered Bengal Florican, lesser Florican, and Sarus crane. Bardiya National Park is enriched with more than 30 different mammals, over 200 species of birds, and many snakes, and lizards.
The park is home to endangered animals such as the Royal Bengal tiger, wild elephant, greater one-horned rhinoceros, swamp deer, and black buck, the other endangered species include Gharial and marsh mugger crocodiles and Gangetic dolphin. 
To enter the park the lodge or hotel provides expert naturalists or jungle guides to show you the exciting wildlife. Takes you to a lovely forest where 70 % of the park is covered with Sal forest the remaining. A balanced mixture of grassland, savannah, and riverine forests makes an ideal habitat for wild mammals and bird life.
Bardiya National Park is the first park in Nepal, where the Tiger population has doubled to about 125. It is also home to 642 species of animals, and 407 species of resident and migratory birds. Includes 125 species of fish, and 839 varieties of plants which makes Bardiya one of the most exotic parks for wildlife safari.
The jungle program is set by the park authority in coordination with the hotels, where visitors can enjoy the thrill.

Best Seasons:
Nearly all months of the year except for monsoon wet seasons of rainy time from mid-June to August. The rest of the months are good for the Safari around Bardiya National Park. However the best time is spring from March to May, and autumn/fall from September to November. 
As well as during the winter months of December to February, cold morning and night time. March to May is quite warm with most days being clear for views and short walks and drives. 
Autumn is also the best time for safari in Bardiya National Park, most days are clear but cold morning and night time. The days are shorter during autumn and winter times due to limited sunlight hours.

Trip Itinerary

On arrival at Kathmandu, Nepal International Airport our guide and staff will meet you with traditional welcome. After knowing the staff of Himalayan Forever Treks, a short drive to your hotels. Located in the heart of a city within an exciting Thamel area, an interesting place where most good hotels and restaurants situated. Reaching at the hotel, check your lovely rooms, after getting refreshed join in for group briefing. Provided by your guide or Group Leader, offers useful and important information of the tour, hotels. Includes details and local culture with do’s and don’ts, evening a group welcome dinner in a nice Nepali Restaurant. 

The morning after breakfast, our city and cultural guide receives you at the hotel for exciting tour. The drive leads in the heart of Kathmandu city, where interesting historical Durbar Square / Palace Courtyard located. The right spot to observe Nepalese cultures. Tour of ancient monuments listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites, next tour takes you to old Swayambhunath Stupa of more than 2,600 years history.  A Buddhist monument situated on a hillock west of Kathmandu city outskirt, the famous landmark of the country. Completing the tour back to hotel, afternoon at leisure and preparation for the tour beyond Kathmandu.

As per the flight time for flight to Nepalgunj airport to reach Bardiya, transfer  to Kathmandu domestic airport. An exciting panoramic flight of less than an hour facing spectacular views of Himalayan peaks, with Nepal beautiful landscapes. On landing at Nepalgunj city airport around Nepal Far Mid-South West, our representative and staff of respective lodge and hotels; receives you.

Then enjoy an exciting drive of more than 3 hours to Bardiya National Park Premises. Where most good hotels is located, after checking into the rooms, our jungle guide, naturalist or staff of the hotels. Provides with briefing regarding the rules of the park, includes information about the jungle and wild-life activities.

Afternoon the guide will take you for a familiarization of the areas, villages, and cultures. Enjoy the nature walks or visiting the Tharu village, the indigenous tribes of low-land Terai. 

On these two days you will be engrossed with Jungle activities, on an elephant safari amidst dense jungle within tall elephant grass. Activities as per the park program, likewise canoe ride, nature or jungle walk, and drive, bird-watching.As well as visit local indigenous Tharu Village, certainly a full day activities of great exciting delight. 

The Jungle activities during two days of exotic safari:

Early morning before breakfast nature or bird watching, elephant ride.Back to lodge for breakfast, walk to the river for canoe ride and observe Gangetic and Marsh Mugger Crocodiles. Includes full of bird life like Bengal Florican, lesser Florican, silver eared mesia and Sarus crane, giant Hornbills. If lucky can catch glimpse fresh-water Gangetic Dolphins and various species of water birds with ducks and Egrets. 

Back to Lodge for lunch, at leisure and late afternoon jungle drive or walks as well elephant ride of few hours. Evening dinner with Cultural programs of native Tharu tribes and slide shows of Bardiya National Park and wild-life.

Morning as time for the flight to Kathmandu, get transferred to Nepalgunj city airport. A scenic flight of less than hour, facing superb panorama of Himalayan peaks till it lands at Kathmandu airport. On arrival at Kathmandu air terminal transfer to your hotel, with afternoon free to enjoy personal activities.

Last day in Nepal and at Kathmandu, get ready for final departure as per your international flight time. Himalayan Forever Trek guide and staff transfer you to the airport. Bidding farewell to the guide and staff as you depart for homeward bound flight, after a wonderful experience on Wildlife Safari at Bardiya National Park.

Bardiya National Park and the district town, is not a popular tourist destination,but slowly gaining popular among foreign visitors. 

At present several hotels and lodge has been built for travelers providing various standard from budget to deluxe class accommodation. Most good hotels restaurants offers comprehensive food menu to choose from, the foods. From Continental, Chinese, Indian, Tibetan and Nepali and bakery products. The most famous and popular is Nepali Dal / Bhat (boiled or steam rice, served with various lentil soups, vegetable or meat mild curry, includes pickles of choice.

Spring time of March to May will be the best time, when days are longer with enough sunlight hours. Quite warm during the day time, but cooler morning and night time. The other best season are autumn / fall starts from September to November, days are mostly clear and fine with mild sunny days. Cold morning and night time, interested people can visit during winter time of December to February, very cold morning and night time. 

At present all cities and towns including rural villages have facilities of ISTD and STD or cell / SAT phones. Where one can easily communicate around the world.WI-FI and Internets available around all cities and towns as well in most hotels in Bardiya. The main religions of Nepal is Hinduism about more than 80 %, followed by Buddhism. The two main religions Hindu and Buddhism have their own special interesting culture and custom. The native Tharu of Terai belt and Bardiya district follow Hindu religion and culture. Celebrates many festival events to mark the harvest, good times to plant paddies and other Hindu religious festivals.
