What is the best time to go for the Bardia Jungle Safari Tour?
For the optimal experience, we recommend choosing the Autumn season, which runs from mid-September to November. During this time, the weather is comfortable with warm days and cool nights. The grasses are also short, making it easier to spot even the smallest animals. Autumn is also ideal for enjoying the pleasant climate of the Terai region. Winter brings foggy conditions that can limit animal sightings, while summer can be extremely hot and lead to heat-related illnesses. It is advisable for travelers to plan their trip accordingly.

Bardiya National Park is the biggest national park in the lowland Terai, covering 968 square kilometers. Located in Nepal's Western Terai, it was established to preserve diverse ecosystems and protect the habitat of tigers and their prey species. Originally, a small portion was designated as the Karnali Wildlife Reserve in 1976. During that time, 1500 households from the Babai valley were relocated outside the park to allow for the growth of vegetation and wildlife. In 1982, it was renamed the Bardiya Wildlife Reserve and expanded to its current size in 1984. The reserve was upgraded to a National Park status in 1988. Additionally, in 1986, 91 Greater One-horned Rhinoceros were moved from Chitwan National Park to Bardiya National Park.

The best time to encounter Tigers in Bardia National Park is during the warm months of March, April, and May. However, you have a good chance of seeing them from September to November as well. The tiger population in Nepal has increased from 121 in 2009 to 235 in 2018. In 2022, Nepal won the TX2 Award for Tiger Conservation for doubling its tiger population. Since 2010, the tiger population in Bardia National Park has grown from 121 to 355 adult tigers. This increase is great news for wildlife enthusiasts as it provides a unique opportunity to see these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.

The Bardiya National Park Tour is a holistic adventure, offering a spectrum of activities that cater to wildlife enthusiasts, nature lovers, and thrill-seekers. Whether you choose Jeep safaris, elephant rides, jungle walks, or river rafting, Bardiya National Park ensures an unforgettable journey into the heart of Nepal's untamed wilderness.
