Now, drive for two hours through Kali Gandaki riverbed and you will reach Chhusang. Check at the hotel and stay there overnight at the lodge. Lo Manthang is a walled city which is 50 kilometres away from Chusang and could be reached in nearly 6 hours. You will be welcomed by the elegant and historic white-washed houses in the dry land. After a short break, you may go outside and explore the streets of the forbidden kingdom of Lomanthan. The view of the pastures and agricultural farms is equally beautiful. Overnight stay there!
Lo Manthang portrays the rich Tibetan Buddhist traditions and culture. You will first go to Namgyal Gompa monasteries which are close to the 2,500 year old Jhong Caves. The five-story King's Palace, constructed in the 1400s, can also be visited to learn about the history of Lo Manthang. You can visit the magnificent Chhoser sky caves and the SHIJA JHONG cave in Mustang, both of which date back more than 3,000 years.
Additionally, you can connect with the young monk students attending the Tsechen Shedrub Ling Monastery School by going to the Monastic Museum. These are all located along the Nepal-Tibet border. After finishing your local area sightseeing, you will take a jeep back to the guest house.
After a few hours of driving from Lo Manthang, you will return to Kagbeni, a beautiful local village in Mustang. Then, you will visit Muktinath temple, one of the most sacred places for Hindus and Buddhists. The temple has an energetic atmosphere and brings peace inside you. There are two small ponds and numerous spring taps, and it is believed that their water could wash away past sins committed.
You will travel back to Jomsom after your quick break at Muktinath. You will occasionally see glimpses of the Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri mountains peek out along the way. After arriving in Jomsom, you may drink the popular local apple booze, dance to the beat of native music, and enjoy folktales.
Get on a Jeep and head to Pokhara after an early breakfast. You will enjoy your trip when you get there and then spend the day touring the lovely city.
