The Best of Bhutan Tour starts with a panoramic flight to land at the lovely town of Paro at Bhutan international airport. An interesting place for an exciting tour of its impressive old sites of Dzong the forts and the famed Taksing Monastery.
Taksing Monastery popularly known as Tigers Nest is perched on a high rocky hill sheltered in an overhanging cave. From Paro a short scenic drive to Thimphu the capital of Bhutan, a quite different city from the rest of the world. 
A city with minimum movement of vehicles, where traffic light does not exist following the age-old traditional ways. The movements of people and vehicles are controlled with the sound of a whistle. 
At Thimphu explore the famous places of great cultural interest, and then head beyond the city towards the serene countryside. Reaching Gangtey and Gogona rural farm villages for the treks exploring its beautiful high green hills and crossing ridges.
The spectacular views abound throughout the trek and from the high pass of Shobju La pass. Which is at above 3,600 m, overlooking the marvelous scenery of towering snow-capped peaks; of the Eastern Himalayas and the Gangtey and Gogona valleys.
Which is also the summer home for migrating Black Necked Cranes, and other elusive endangered wildlife species. The tour and trekking are one of the best ways to soak amidst the beautiful greenery of Bhutan's lovely country. 
After visiting interesting ancient sites of monasteries and Dzong the fortress, as well as getting a glimpse of all Bhutan traditions. Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu 1,320 m and transfer to hotel.

On arrival at Kathmandu, Nepal International Airport our guide and staff will receives you with traditional welcome. After knowing the staff of Himalayan Forever Treks, a short drive to your hotels. Located in the heart of a city within an exciting Thamel area, an interesting place where most good hotels and restaurants situated. Reaching at the hotel, check your lovely rooms, after getting refreshed join in for group briefing. Provided by your guide or Group Leader, offers useful and important information for Best of Bhutan Tour.

Day 2 : In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour and trek preparation.

Morning after breakfast, our city and cultural guide receives you at the hotel for exciting tour. The drive leads in the heart of Kathmandu city, where interesting historical Durbar Square / Palace Courtyard located. The right spot to observe Nepalese cultures. Tour of ancient monuments listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites, next tour takes you to old Swayambhunath Stupa of more than 2,600 years history.  A Buddhist monument situated on a hillock west of Kathmandu city outskirt, the famous landmark of the country.

Kathmandu Durbar Square:

Located at the heart of the city, Kathmandu Durbar Square serves as a living museum of Nepal's royal history. Surrounded by ancient palaces, courtyards, and temples, the square boasts a captivating blend of Malla and Shah architecture. The Hanuman Dhoka Palace, with its intricately carved wooden windows and doors, stands as a testament to the city's regal past.

The Kumari Ghar, an integral part of the square, is the residence of the Kumari, a young living goddess revered by locals. Visitors may catch a glimpse of her during scheduled appearances, adding an air of mystique to the historical ambiance. Pashupati Nath:

A short distance from the city center lies Pashupati Nath, a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated on the banks of the Bagmati River, the temple complex exudes spirituality and tranquility. The main temple, adorned with intricate wood carvings and golden spires, attracts pilgrims and tourists alike.

The eastern bank of the Bagmati River provides a vantage point for observing the religious rituals and ceremonies performed by devotees. The site is also home to wandering sadhus, adding to the spiritual aura. Pashupati Nath not only serves as a religious center but also showcases Nepal's architectural heritage through ancient statues, shrines, and ghats along the river.

Boudha:

Heading northeast, the journey culminates at Boudha, home to the majestic Boudha Stupa. This UNESCO World Heritage Site stands as a profound symbol of Buddhism. The colossal white dome, adorned with the Buddha's all-seeing eyes, creates a serene and contemplative atmosphere.

Surrounding the stupa is a bustling market where vendors offer an array of Tibetan artifacts, prayer flags, and traditional handicrafts. The rhythmic chants of prayers, the spinning of prayer wheels, and the fluttering of colorful flags contribute to the spiritual ambiance. Pilgrims circumambulate the stupa, engaging in prayer and ritual, while nearby monasteries house monks immersed in their daily practices.

As the day progresses, the stupa is illuminated, casting a peaceful glow that enhances the spiritual experience. Boudha encapsulates the essence of Buddhist culture and serves as a haven for those seeking a connection to Nepal's spiritual roots. From here back to hotel, afternoon at leisure and preparation for Best of Bhutan Tour.

Day 3 : Fly to Paro in Bhutan 2,200 m / 7,200 feet and transfer to hotel.

Morning or afternoon, depending upon flight time for Paro, transfer to Kathmandu, Nepal’s international airport. Less than an hour panoramic, flight to land at Paro, Bhutan, on arrival after immigration, visa formalities. Our native Bhutanese guide receives you for short drive to the hotels in Paro, with afternoon free at leisure.

Day 4 : Tour of Paro Taksing monastery ‘Tiger Nest’ and historical sites.

After breakfast, guide will take you a for full day tour of Paro, a major town of Bhutan with full of historical and cultural and heritage sites, visit of old ruined fort which was built to commemorate the victory over Tibetan invaders in 17th Century. The tour includes few hour hike to Taksing Monastery, the famous Tiger Nest, located on an overhanging cave, high above a rocky hill. 

After an interesting of Druk Gyaldzong, late afternoon tour of National Museum which displays rich collections of fine arts weapons, tour continues to famous Taksing Monastery (Tiger's nest).

From here enjoy views of Paro and distance snow-capped peaks, after a wonderful time here descend by the same route to your hotel.

Day 5 : Drive to Thimphu 2,320 m / 7, 656 feet (54 k.m.) - 02 hours.

After an interesting time at Paro, morning two hours scenic drive to the capital of Bhutan in Thimphu, on reaching Thimphu check into a nice hotels, after lunch visit the memorial stupa, indigenous hospital, where traditional medicine is still practiced and the painting school.

Day 6 : At Thimphu sightseeing tour around places of great cultural interest.

After breakfast our guide will take you on tour of Memorial Chorten (temple) built in memory of the late 3rd King of Bhutan, visit of Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the valley offering a nice view of the valley, a short scenic drive for a visit of the largest and recently built statue of Buddha with wonderful view of entire Thimphu valley. Afternoon tour of traditional Hand Made Paper Mill, School of Arts and Crafts where students learn 13 different arts used predominantly in Bhutan, Folk Heritage Museum, National Library and the Traditional Institute of Medicine. Drive to the Zilukha nunnery to meet the nuns and interact with them.

Day 7 : Drive to Gangtey 2,830 m (Distance 180 k.m.) - 05 hrs.

After a pleasant stop in Thimphu and having breakfast, an interesting drive to Gangtey around Bhutan’s beautiful countryside towards high hills with lovely scenery of green landscapes and traditional villages. The drive ends reaching Gangtey, then check into a nice farm house for overnight stop.

Day 8 : Trek to Gogona village 3,000 m (15 k.m) - 06 hrs.

The trek starts for a long day walk through farm fields and rural villages, the trail follows into lovely forest. After a pleasant scenic trek reaching Gogona village for overnight in the comfort of a nice cozy guesthouse / lodge.

Day 9 : Trek to Khoatokha via Shobju La at 3,600 m (15 k.m) - 06 hrs.

At Gogona morning tour of interesting monastery, and then start morning for six hours walks. The trail climbs above Shobju La pass at 3,600 meters, the highest point of the journey. From the top enjoy grand vista of hills, valley with views of snowcapped peaks and head downhill. As walk leads to a wide valley towards Khoatokha village for overnight stop in another nice guesthouse / lodge.

Day 10 : Trek to Wangdi Phodrang 14 k.m. - 06 hrs walks.

From Khoatokha, morning walk leads on winding path into forest of rhododendron-magnolia-birch and pines trees. The trek follows through rural farm village at Wangdi Phodrang for overnight stop. Staying in a log cabin serves as guest house.

Day 11 : Trek to Chuzomsa via Tashi-la pass 2,780 m, drive to Thimphu - 04 hours.

Our last day trek morning walk leads to a nice Chuzomsa village, after trekking past farm villages. Facing views of snow mountain range and cross over Tashi-la 2,780 m, a small pass then reaching Chuzomsa village. On ending the day walk at Chuzomsa village, taking an exciting drive to Thimphu. The ride completes after four hours of exciting drive reaching Thimphu for overnight stop.

Day 12 : Leisure morning in Thimphu afternoon drive to Paro.

Enjoy relaxing morning after a several day of walks and drives, explore the market of Thimphu. Afternoon drive to Paro and transfer to a nice hotel, rest of the day at leisure visiting the streets of lovely Paro town on last day in Bhutan.

Day 13 : Drive to Paro, Bhutan’s International airport for flight to Kathmandu.

As per flight time for Kathmandu or other respective destinations, transfer to Bhutan’s International airport at Paro. Then bid farewell to the Bhutanese guide and drivers, board in a national carrier or similar airlines for flight to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal International Airport Himalayan Forever Treks staff receives for transfer to your hotels. 

Day 14 : International departure for homeward bound.

Last day in Nepal and at Kathmandu, get ready for final departure as per your international flight time. Himalayan Forever Trek guide and staff transfer you to the airport.
